Toward Pride equips institutions to advocate for the holistic health and wellness of Black LGBTQ+ communities. We envision a world where LGBTQ+ communities are embraced by social, civic, and faith-based institutions that insist on our freedom and full flourishing.
Toward Pride defines care as the responsibility to protect people from harm and create the conditions for them to flourish. We partner with institutions serving Black LGBTQ+ communities to advocate for better care through four core approaches:
Research
We generate insights that help institutions understand where care is breaking down and how to repair it.
Training
We equip teams with the tools and practices needed to deliver equitable, affirming care.
Systems Change
We work alongside institutions to embed safety, dignity, and accountability into how they operate.
Storytelling
We shift narratives to center belonging and ensure Black LGBTQ+ experiences shape care.
