    Mariana Thomas was born and raised on the south side of Chicago. She is a graduate of Hope College and Princeton Theological Seminary. Mariana is a fierce advocate for reproductive justice in Black communities. Previously, as the program manager for the Black Organizing Program at Planned Parenthood Illinois Action, she advocated for access to safe and affordable reproductive healthcare for Black communities throughout Illinois. She continued her advocacy work at the Democratic Party of Illinois as a Regional Political Director over Southern Cook, Will, and Kankakee counties. Currently, Mariana is the program manager for Toward Pride’s new project Toward Healing, an initiative to connect people living with HIV to mental health and spiritual care services. In her free time, Mariana enjoys going to comedy shows, concerts, traveling, and spending time with her beloved cat, Bijou.
